Travis, big time tuna fisher, finally caught tuna. That is really the only interesting thing you will learn in this update. That, and also that I helped set the new world record for World's Longest Shot Ski while on a visit to Park City.
Started the year in Kauai with my in-laws. It wasn't terrible because my nieces are the most adorable things outside of my cats. Also, Travis somehow just knows how to find fun. Gas station poke, and a weird pedestrian suspension bridge? Yes, please.
But also both Travis and I turned 40. I joined the board of ALS Northwest. If you want me or my husband to ever respond to your communication attempts you should really consider donating here.
Because we turned 40, we went to French Polynesia. When we turned 30, we went to Costa Rica. There is probably some socioeconomic commentary to be drawn from that, but I'm too old for it. Going to go to bed instead. With my hunk of a husband.
We also did a bunch of super cool stuff closer to home, like the ABBA Candle Light Concert, a winter escape to Palm Springs, a handful of hikes, visits to friends in Seattle, my brother's wedding in Southern Oregon, camping and jet skiing in Prineville, a mirror cabin at Tierra del Mar beach in Oregon, and a couple nights at Tenzen something or other in the Columbia Gorge. We also hit up Japan the week after Thanksgiving. Their trains are incredible. Why can't we have nice trains? (Yeah, that's not local, I recognize that, but have you seen how hot my husband is? It's very distracting).
P.S. Huge thanks to Ken, for facilitating Travis's catching of tuna.
